Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski's coming trip to France and Spain will help consolidate the Inca country in these markets, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Eduardo Ferreyros projected.
"This will be a great visit; he [President Kuczynski] will
travel to France for
OECD-related matters and then to Madrid, where he is to give a series of major presentations," the government official told Andina news agency.
Said visit will thus "further open these [European] markets."
Activities will also include meetings with European business executives and financial authorities.
Promotion opportunity
In addition to reinforcing bilateral and cooperation ties, Minister Ferreyros affirmed the visit will serve to "promote infrastructure investments in Peru with a view to the
Reconstruction with Changes [RCC] process."
As is known, the Peruvian Government currently works on the
RCC initiative to rebuild and restore infrastructure damaged by recent
"Coastal El Niño" phenomenon disasters.
The President's entourage will be composed of Ministers Ricardo Luna (Foreign Affairs) and Alfredo Thorne (Economy and Finance), among other government officials.
Growing presence
On a different note, the government official noted President Kuczynski's administration is working to promote Peru not only in the trade sphere, but also in tourism and politics.
"We are working on increasing Peru's global presence in trading, touristic, political and strategic matters. This trip is a good opportunity to make progress in these fields."
In this sense, Ferreyros echoed the view of Mr. Kuczynski, who underlined Peru's need for positive international relations earlier today.
