Pope Francis will conduct a mass service at Lima's Costa Verde seashore as part of his visit to the Inca country on January 18-21, 2018, the Peruvian Episcopal Conference (CEP) informed Monday.

Announcement came during a press conference held at CEP headquarters during which Monsignor Norberto Strotmann and fellow religious authorities revealed the Pope's trip schedule.

As is known, His Holiness expressed his wish to visit the Andean nation last May. His visit was officially announced a month later.

Corresponding arrangements and preparations are already underway, led by Labor and Employment Promotion Minister Alfonso Grados.

In addition to capital city Lima, the 80-year-old Pontiff's trip will include cities Puerto Maldonado and Trujillo in rainforest Madre de Dios and northern La Libertad regions, respectively.

Following Papal protocol, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski will visit the Vatican in September to extend a personal invitation to His Holiness.
