Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Monday assured Pope Francis' coming visit to the Inca nation will be a "huge success."

In statements during a press conference with the Peruvian Episcopal Conference (CEP), the Head of State affirmed His Holiness' visit —scheduled for January 18-21, 2018— will set a milestone for Peru.

The statesman added Labor and Employment Promotion Minister Alfonso Grados will be in charge of corresponding arrangements on behalf of the Peruvian Government.

"He [Minister Grados] has been working tirelessly, and I am absolutely confident this visit will be a huge success," he anticipated.

Preparations for the visit will involve plenty of logistics arrangements considering the need to transport citizens to rainforest Madre de Dios and northern La Libertad regions, also included in the Pope's tour.

His Holiness thus officially included the Inca nation in his agenda, following a letter addressed to him last March by President Kuczynski.

As is known, Pope Francis last May expressed his wish to visit the Inca country in 2018.

Last March, His Holiness sent a contribution of US$100,000 to Peru as an expression of love and sympathy with the Andean nation to tackle "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon.
