President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Friday arrived in Peru's northern city of Trujillo to supervise cleaning and channelization works along Viru River.

It must be noted these clean-up efforts entail an investment of S/150 million (about US$46.28 million) and will benefit 350 local farming families.

Activities comprise the Reconstruction with Changes Plan aimed at refurbishing areas damaged by Coastal El Niño phenomenon between January and March this year.

The Head of State also launched the natural gas household distribution network in the northern city.

While in Trujillo, President Kuczynski was joined by Ministers Jose Manuel Hernandez (Agriculture and Irrigation), Cayetana Aljovin (Energy and Mines), and Bruno Giuffra (Transport and Communications).
