Unesco presence to assess Machu Picchu confirmed for this week

The State-run Decentralized Culture Directorate of Cusco (DDCC) confirmed the upcoming presence of a Unesco Reactive Monitoring mission in the southern region to assess the state of conservation of Peru's Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

As part of its Reactive Monitoring process for World Heritage List properties, a Unesco joint mission will visit Peru's Southern Cusco region on February 22-25 to assess the state of conservation of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

Julcan expects to draw over 5,000 tourists during Carnival
