Lima region's northern Huaral province is likely to welcome some 30,000 visitors during National Independence holidays (July 27-30).

Huaral's Hotels, Restaurants and Related Establishments Association (AHORA-Huaral) Chairwoman Rosa Balcazar affirmed this province will be one of the most visited sites in the region because of its gastronomic wealth.

She added Huaral-styled Roasted Pork will definitely be the most demanded dish during the coming national holidays.

Likewise, she underlined nearly 50% of estimated tourists will visit the Chancay Castle, where they will be able to enjoy its architectural and historic beauty.

Furthermore, the AHORA officer recalled the province received 23,000 travelers in the same period last year.

According to the Inca nation's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru), Huaral is the third most visited area this 2017, behind Cañete province.

Gastronomic wealth

It must be noted Huaral celebrates "Roasted Pork's Day" on the third Sunday of every October.

The flagship dish —born in said city—became the most demanded meal at Mistura International Gastronomic Fair over the previous three years.

It is worth noting that pato en aji (Huaral-styled spicy duck stew) is also one of the area's iconic dishes. The meal is served with rice, beans and yuca (cassava).
