President of Spanish Government receives Peruvian leader in Madrid

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski was received by the President of the Spanish Government Mariano Rajoy at Moncloa Palace in Madrid.

Mr. Kuczynski is expected to attend a working meeting as part of his two-day official visit to Spain.

The Peruvian leader is joined by Ministers Ricardo Luna (Foreign Affairs) and Alfredo Thorne (Economy and Finance), as well as Peruvian Ambassador to Spain Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde and International Affairs Advisor Roberto Rodriguez.


The two leaders and their respective delegations will share a working breakfast, according to the president's schedule.

The visit — Kuczynski's first visit to Spain since taking office in July 2016— aims at strengthening bilateral ties, finding new ways of cooperation and promoting investments in Peru.

In addition, the President will meet with His Majesty King Felipe VI at Zarzuela Palace.

At the meeting, the 78-year-old statesman will be accompanied by Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna and Ambassador to Spain Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde.
