Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and U.S. counterpart Donald J. Trump discussed bilateral and regional issues during a phone call on Friday, the White House said.
The two leaders talked the new United States policy towards Cuba —disclosed in a recent speech in Miami, Florida.
On Friday, President Trump announced his administration will review many of his predecessor's policies on the Caribbean island nation.
The phone call also touched on the terrible situation in the South American nation of Venezuela, which enters its third month of anti-government protests.
This is not the first time they address the topic, though. President Trump phoned his Peruvian counterpart to address the ongoing crisis
back in May.
"President Trump underscored that the United States will work together with Peru in seeking to improve democratic institutions and help the people of Venezuela," the White House said in a brief statement at that time.
