The Peruvian Government will deliver on its promise to raise teachers' salaries every year and improve learning conditions for students, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski affirmed on Monday.
Addressing teachers while presenting renovation and equipping works at San Jose de Jauja school, the Head of State assured the government "is working to make progress."
"Although much remains to be done, [teachers'] salaries will improve every year just as we've promised; we are delivering," the statesman said.
Having made considerable progress in reading comprehension levels, the said school earned the
Education Ministry's School Bonus; that is, a financial incentive granted to educational institutions whose students reach outstanding performance.
The 78-year-old leader also underlined other government efforts to spur development in the Andean region, like the modernization of
Jauja Airport, as well as plans to build a new
hospital and alternative routes to the Central Highway.
Joined by Education Minister Marilu Martens, the President got the chance to listen to students, who thanked him for the upgrading of school facilities and shared their learning expectations.
Mr. Kuczynski arrived in the central-highland city this morning for a series of activities joined by First Vice-President Martin Vizcarra, as well as Ministers Bruno Giuffra (Transport and Communications) and Eduardo Ferreyros (Foreign Trade and Tourism).
