Peruvian GDP will expand 2.8% this year despite the impacts of Lava Jato (Car Wash) corruption case and "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon, Prime Minister Fernando Zavala projected.
In this sense, the high-ranking official affirmed growth will be possible thanks to government-measures aimed at mitigating those impacts.
"[...] we are currently putting more resources into the economy and developing a countercyclical policy," Zavala stated.
Likewise, the also-Economy and Finance minister said the current administration has increased public spending and is focused on raising public investment.
Lastly, Zavala underlined a bonus will be granted to those affected by "
Coastal El Niño."
As is known, the Inca nation was at the mercy of natural disasters in the January-March period.
