Peru’s Environment Ministry (Minam) recognized the Siete Cataratas -Qanchis Paccha Private Conservation Area (PCA), located in the Calca province of Cuzco, for the period of 10 years.

The Ministerial Resolution N° 214-2015-MINAM states that the Siete Cataratas -Qanchis Paccha PCA general objective is to ensure continuation of natural ecological and evolutionary processes in order to maintain the area's biological diversity, through the development of a preventive culture and the community participation in the care of natural resources.

The document also indicates the necessity to create conditions and guidelines to develop tourist potentials in the area and its influence zone, thus contributing with to improvement of owners' quality of life.

The Siete Cataratas -Qanchis Paccha PCA recognition file is regulated by its Master Plan, since it includes a list of obligations, restrictions and the Private Conservation Area zoning proposal.

Obligations to be performed are: 
  1. Develop sustainable environmental practices in the use of natural resources and preserve environmental servicesin the Private Conservation Area.
  2. Comply with the regulations on  Protected Natural Areas (PNA), guidelines, orders and recommendations issued by Sernanp, as well as related regulations applicable to conservation of the Private Conservation Area.
  3. Assist Sernanp's representative or person designated so that he/she can monitor the area.
  4. Issue an annual report showing compliance progress of the master plan.
  5. Not to make changes of use other than those permitted in the planning documents.
  6. Not to make change of use of land in the PCA limited use zoning.
  7. Prevent activities that put the area's objectives at risk.
  8. Not to develop infrastructure projects that might ruin the quality of landscape.
The provisions of this Ministerial Resolution neither imply validation of any real right over the recognized area, nor serve as evidence of the process intended to formalize the property before the competent state authority.

The resolution, published in El Peruano official gazette, was signed by the Minister of Environment Manuel Pulgar Vidal Otalora.
