Treasures of the Priestess of Chornancap will be on display at the Brüning Archaeological Museum, in Peru's northern region of Lambayeque, as part of the exposition named "Mystery and History in Lambayaque’s culture" which will open on Friday 14th June. The exhibition features 62 artifacts recovered from the tomb of Lambayaque’s ancient female ruler such as gold and silver earrings, gold ceremonial scepter, bimetallic glasses, shell bead pectorals, conus, and necklaces, among others.

"This event will help boost tourism in the region and arouse the interest of hundreds of visitors of the Brüning Museum which will soon celebrate its 92nd anniversary," said the museum director, archaeologist Carlos Wester.

Peruvian Culture Ministry has given its full support to this event where the German Ambassador to Peru, Joachim Christoph Schmillen along with regional authorities have been invited to attend the official inauguration ceremony.

The funerary bundle of the 25- to 30-year-old woman priestess was found with eight companions buried in a grave located south of Chornancap in 2012.
