Peru President OIlanta Humala announced today he will not participate in the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States' (CELAC) 3rd. Heads of State and Government summit.

The summit will be held in San Jose, Costa Rica.

“It is a very important summit, but we have decided to cancel the trip,” Mr. Humala expressed after heading a recognition ceremony to municipalities, which assist the elderly.

“I prefer to comply with the national activities, which are many. We don’t want these types of things to distract Congress,” the President emphasized.

As reminded by the Head of State, the Parliament was called for an extraordinary meeting to discuss the new Youth Employment Law project, which he considered a "second opportunity" so the legislators “can re meet with the future of the country.”
