Peru's top gastronomic fair opens doors in Lima

Known as Latin America’s greatest food fair, Mistura 2016 will open its doors and allow attendees to taste domestic, as well as foreign delicacies available to foodies for 10 days.

Starting at 10:30 AM (local time), the current edition expects to breaks last year's 400,000 attendance record.

Dishes

Dish prices range from S/8.00 (about US$2.42) (half-portion) to S/14.00 (about US$4.24) (full-size).

This year's new feature is the "5x5" special offer, named after dish prices S/.5.00 (about US$1.51) and the 5-star restaurants offering them.

Top dishes can be found at Mistura's Grand Market: quinoa burgers, bean and quinoa salad, squash ravioli, kapchi (typical Cuzco dish) of wild mushrooms 'hongos' and legumes, as well as 'solterito' (Andean corn, fava bean and chili pepper salad), among others.

Featured 5-star restaurants include Central, Maido, 1087 Bistro, 1111 Peruvian Bistro and Manifiesto and others.

On this occasion, the mega culinary event will also host cooks from Mexico and India.

Admission

Off-peak (Mon - Wed) tickets stand at: S/17.00 (about US$5.15) for adults and S/9.00 (about US$2.72) for children.

Peak-day (Thu - Sun) ticket prices are: S/26.00 (about US$7.87) for adults and S/11.00 (about US$3.33) for children.

The event will be held at Lima Metropolitan area's Costa Verde seashore in Magdalena del Mar district on September 2-11.
