Peruvian restaurant "Tanta", owned by celebrity chef and restaurateur Gaston Acurio, was ranked among Chicago's best "new" restaurants, according to popular Chicago Magazine.
In its annual poll based on Chicago's dining critics, the magazine has ranked Tanta as the third best new restaurant in the Chicago area out of seventeen dinning establishments.

Thus, Dusek's restaurant tooped the list, while the seafood-focused Italian establishment Nico Ostería came in second.

"From March 1, 2013, through February 28, 2014, we ate 317 meals at 61 of the most promising new restaurants spanning the entire six-county Chicago metro area. These are the ones that rose to the top. "

In its April's edition, the magazine said Tanta Chicago "is a clear and delicious introduction to a fine cuisine, one where lime-drenched seviches and flaky empanadas blend into a landscape that enfolds lively and unlikely flavors".

The other fourteen Chicago's best new restaurants included 42 Grams, Brindille, Kinmmont, Mott St., The Winchester, Travelle, The Radler, Chop Chop, Baffo, A10, Stela Barra Pizzeria, Gogi and Beatrix.

Gaston Acurio currently has 32 restaurants in 12 countries from all over the world. Tanta Chicago was opened in March,2013
