Peru's sol finished weaker Wednesday at PEN2.828 per U.S. dollar compared with PEN2.826 in the previous trading session.
So far this year the sol has depreciated 1 percent against the U.S. dollar, having positive impact in the country's purchasing power.
In the last 12-month period, the Peruvian currency has weakened 0.46 percent against the greenback.
Meanwhile, the country's Central Bank largely remained at the sidelines and did not intervene in the foreign-exchange market today.
Also on Wednesday, the BCR auctioned a eighteen-month PEN100 million deposit certificate (CD BCRP) at an average rate of 3,60 percent.
A two-month PEN 130 million deposit certificate (CD BCRP) at an average rate of 0.08 percent was also auctioned.
