The Peruvian Government supports and accompanies the relatives of Peruvian Air Force (FAP) Major Ramiro Rondon, who passed away recently when a Mirage 2000 aircraft crashed while he was on training flight in Arequipa, President Dina Boluarte affirmed on Saturday.

"With respect and admiration, we remember the legacy of a great man who left an indelible mark at the FAP," Mrs. Boluarte expressed during the posthumous tribute paid to the deceased officer this afternoon.

Although the top official acknowledged that "there are no words that can alleviate the value of this loss," she also noted that Rondon's relatives "are in our thoughts and hearts during these difficult times."

Support and solidarity

Addressing them, the Head of State affirmed that "we are here to bring you all the support and solidarity you need."

"At this moment of deep pain and sadness, we pay posthumous tribute to Major Ramiro Rondon," she said.

The deceased officer's body arrived in the Peruvian capital, Lima, from Arequipa today.

The reception and posthumous tribute ceremony took place at Las Palmas Air Base.
