The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Monday said that health —as a right of all Peruvians— is one of the fundamental axes of the Government's general policy.

In this regard, she noted that the launch of the Centennial Hospitals Plan, which seeks to strengthen, improve, and expand the hospitals’ patient care capacity nationwide, will mark a milestone and a revolution in health.

Moreover, the Head of State stressed that the Government is working to improve infrastructure and care delivery at health facilities to promote access to health services, placing emphasis on the population that needs it most.

"Shouts or hatred for the country will not stop us. We stand firm for the health of all Peruvians," she pointed out.

“There is no room for hatred and mediocrity here, and we are moving forward with the development of the country and, within that framework, today we open an important chapter in medical care across our beloved country, with the launch of the Centennial Hospitals Plan; we mark a milestone and a revolution in health," the dignitary added.

Mrs. Boluarte remarked that the plan is aimed at hospitals that are over or close to 100 years old.

It includes 11 hospitals in a first stage, eight of them in Lima and three in provinces.

These are the health centers located in the capital city: Arzobispo Loayza, Dos de mayo, Sergio Bernales, Victor Larco Herrera, Cayetano Heredia, "San Bartolome" Mother-Child Teaching Hospital, National Institute of Child Health, and Institute of Neurological Sciences.

On the other hand, hospitals in the provinces include Goyeneche in Arequipa, Belen in Trujillo and Las Mercedes in Chiclayo.
