Peru's largest mining industry trade fair kicks off in Lima

Peru’s Energy and Mines Minister, Eleodoro Mayorga, is set to deliver the welcome address at Wednesday’s inauguration of the Fifth annual edition of Expomina Peru, the nation’s leading mining trade event.

Attending the opening ceremony, to be held at the Jockey Plaza Convention Centre in the nation’s capital Lima, will be senior government executives from the mining sector of Chile and Argentina as well as high-profile investors from across Latin America and the Caribbean.

This year’s edition of Expomina Peru is targeted to facilitate 850 business matching deals among suppliers and leading entrepreneurs engaged in the above-mentioned economic activity and generate a bath trade value worth roughly US$ 500 million.

Among other senior officials from the Humala administration taking part of the opening ceremony of the three-day exhibition, organized by the Digamma group, include the Peruvian Deputy Ministers of Mines, Guillermo Shinno; and Energy, Edwin Quintanilla.

Apart from the minister Mayorga, addressing the ceremony with keynote speeches will be Deputy Minister of Mine, Ignacio Moreno; and former Minister of this sector from Chile, Laurence Golborne; while from Argentina will be its Secretary of Mining, Jorge Mayoral. 

The trade event will bring together several ambassadors and permanent delegates, including China’s ambassador to Peru, Min Hui; Patricia Fortier, from Canada; Roberto Ibarra, from Chile; Maria Elvira Pombo, from Colombia; Jang Keun-ho, from South Korea, and Elsa Dry, from South Africa.
