Peru's olive exports saw strong growth in January and August this year

Peru's agricultural exports to Brazil totaled US$ 33.5 million between January and August 2013, and included mainly olives and passion fruit juice, Peru's Exporters Association (ADEX) has said.
According to ADEX's Business Intelligence System Data Trade, this amount represents a decrease of 9.2 percent from the one recorded the same period last year and noted that the products most in demand were olives with a decline of 37.1 percent) and passion fruit juice with 66,6 percent.

It was followed by oregano (54.2 percent), fresh asparagus (23 percent), among others, ADEX reported.

Meanwhile, ADEX's Agribusiness management pointed out that Peruvian exports to Brazil amounted to US$ 1.16 billion between January and August this year, an increase of 44.3% from a year earlier (US$ 807.3 million).
