Peru's 2016 Defense Ministry budget will total S/.7.523 billion (about US$2.245 billion), the head of the portfolio Jakke Valakivi informed.
Resources will enable to successfully conclude investment projects and consolidate a salary/wage increase for the benefit of Armed Forces personnel, Valakivi stressed.
The figure will also allow to complete payment for four C27 aircrafts, a satellite system, ground station and its corresponding launch in 2016.
Also 308 transportation units, five light helicopters are expected to arrive and eight KT-1P aircrafts to be co-produced during the next fiscal year, he noted.
Remarks were during his presentation at the Congress Plenary session to support the 2016 Public Sector Budget proposal amounting to S/.138.4 billion (about US$41.34 billion).
The corresponding budget discussion began on Thursday afternoon. The debate session kicked off on Thursday morning.
