13:27 | Lima, Oct. 3.

Tickets for Peru's World Cup qualifier against Colombia at Lima's National Stadium sold out in just two hours, online selling platform Teleticket reported.

Peru and Colombia soccer teams will fight for a spot in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia on October 10.

Online sales started at 6:00 am, thus generating good response among the enthusiasts.

According to fans, the sale had some 120,000 people waiting in online queue just a few minutes after tickets went on sale.

It must be noted over 45,000 tickets were put on sale by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF).

Although the website crashed at midnight, the problem was solved and sale began as planned.

FPF's decision to sell tickets online was announced last week as a way to clamp down on ticket resale.

As is known, Peru-Colombia match is crucial as it constitutes a possibility for the Incas to return to the World Cup after 35 years.

Peru's soccer team got into the fight after a 2-1 victory over Ecuador on September 5.
