Peru, US Leaders to meet in Lima

Leaders of Peru Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and the United States Barack Obama will hold a bilateral meeting, within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum Leaders' Week in Lima, Peru's second Vice-President Mercedes Araoz affirmed on Wednesday.

The APEC High-Level Extraordinary Commission Head noted Mr. Kuczynski will also hold similar meetings with other counterparts attending the APEC Summit.

On November 18, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will pay a State visit to Peru on the occasion of the APEC event.

Likewise, Chinese leader Xi Jinping will remain in the Peruvian capital once this international mega-event concludes to start an official visit to the South American country.

Informal talks

A series of informal talks will also take place during the said major forum.

Such dialogues will be held among APEC Leaders and those of the Pacific Alliance, including Juan Manuel Santos (Colombia), Michelle Bachelet (Chile), Enrique Peña Nieto (Mexico) and Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (Peru).

Discussions with Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing-Director Christine Lagarde will take place as well this weekend.
