Peru to attend EU conference on Cocaine Route Program

Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Funds (SBS) will attend the conference named “Improving responses to organized crime and drug trafficking along the cocaine route” on May 28-30, 2013, in Roma, Italy.
The event is co-hosted by the European Commission, the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The seminar will be focus on reviewing all projects that are part of the "Route of Cocaine", among which is the EU project - Financial Action Task Force of South America (Gafisud).

The three-day event will convene more than 100 policy makers, practitioners and leading experts in the field from more than 40 countries, in order to critically evaluate the environment, identify trends and highlight new priorities which will require a coordinated response. 

In this regard, the SBS issued a resolution authorizing the trip to the said event of its manager of Foreign Affairs and Training, Jorge Yumi Taba.
