Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Tasso met with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and together expressed their interest in broadening bilateral relations and deepening political dialogue.

The two authorities discussed economic-commercial, scientific, investment and tourism issues as they met at the Government Palace in Lima, Peru on Tuesday night.

In his trip to the Russian Federation in November last year, the Peruvian leader visited Tatarstan, where he promoted dialogue with political authorities with a view to enhancing trade exchange and industrial cooperation.

While in Peru, the Russian Republic delegation is due to meet with Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Edgar Vasquez and the head of Peru’s Exporters Association (ADEX) Eduardo Amorrortu.

ADEX will host the forum “Opportunities in the Republic of Tatarstan” in order to identify opportunities for Peruvian products in Tatarstan and increase awareness of the national export offer.

Furthermore, the exporters association plans to ink a cooperation agreement with Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
