While in France, the President of the Republic of Peru, Ollanta Humala, ratified his country’s commitment to quickly implementing the biometric passport issuing process.

Such documents are expected to meet highest quality standards, with the aim of concluding the Schengen visa waiver process and thus allow Peruvian tourists to travel to the Eurozone for up-to 90-day stays.

The said commitment was ratified during a Monday gathering held between Mr. Humala and current High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.

During this meeting, the Head of State addressed progress related to the said document issuing process, Peru's Government Palace informed.

On the other hand, Mogherini welcomed efforts by the Peruvian Government in this sense.

Those documents will enable to soon conclude Schengen visa waiver process negotiations, as a way of further strengthening relationships between Peru and the European Union.
