The private sector is waiting for Peruvian government's call to participate in the reconstruction of areas affected by natural disasters, Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL) head Mario Mongilardi affirmed.

The Andean country was recently at the mercy of "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon characterized by heavy rains, landslides and floods that destroyed infrastructure and crops, as well as left many citizens homeless.

Mongilardi underlined the private sector's participation will be highly relevant since the public one needs support.

The CCL officer also noted private companies will join the process, as they did by providing assistance to disaster victims.

"We are ready to support the entire reconstruction process," he added.

Last Tuesday, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski announced the Executive had submitted a bill to implement a "reconstruction with change" in Peru.

The Government of Peru is ready to meet challenge in disaster-hit areas all over the country, said Prime Minister Fernando Zavala last Saturday.

The Cabinet chief confirmed the process has three goals: to improve conditions of affected people, rehabilitate roads and restore people's daily life.
