Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski traveled to Ecuador on Tuesday afternoon with the purpose of attending the inauguration of President-elect Lenin Moreno.

The ceremony is set to take place at the Ecuadorian National Assembly facilities in Quito on Wednesday.

At the event, the Head of State will be joined by Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna and Peruvian Ambassador to Ecuador Hugo Otero.

In this sense, Mr. Kuczynski's visit to the northern country will help reinforce bilateral relations uniting both nations, as well as regional integration.

It must be noted Peru's top official held an audience with Lenin Moreno at Lima-based Government Palace on May 9.

On that occasion, the meeting addressed trade, economy and democracy-related issues, plus Latin American countries' need to work together.

Said gathering was part of Mr. Moreno's first overseas trip, which also comprised a stop in Bogota (Colombia).

Mr. Moreno won April's presidential election in his homeland, after defeating opponent Guillermo Lasso in the runoff. Thus, he will succeed Rafael Correa.
