Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski expressed gratitude to Pope Francis for including Peru in his future South American tour.
As is known, the 80-year-old Pontiff will visit the Inca country on January 18-21, 2018. His trip will include cities Lima, Puerto Maldonado and Trujillo.
"On behalf of Peruvians, with whom we share the Catholic faith, I thank His Holiness Pope Francis for including Peru in his visit schedule [...]," the Head of State posted on Facebook.
Previously, the Peruvian statesman assured Pope Francis' coming trip will be a "huge success" and set a milestone for the Andean country.
It must be noted Pope Francis last May expressed his wish to visit Peru in 2018.
Last March, His Holiness sent a contribution of US$100,000 to Peru as an expression of love and sympathy with the South American nation to tackle "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon.
