Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Tuesday night was awarded the keys to the city of Quito and declared illustrious guest of the Ecuadorian capital.

The Peruvian leader claimed the two brother countries will continue to tighten bonds of friendship.

"Expressing our gratitude for such a great honor —[Ecuador] is a friendly country of Peru, a sister city of Lima— strengthening our relations with another Andean, Amazon, Pacific country is essential," he stated at a conference along with Quito Mayor Mauricio Rodas.

The Head of State said it is important for both nations to keep on working in favor of their peoples.

"We will continue to work […]," Mr. Kuczynski underlined after being handed over the keys to Quito.
