President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski heads to Peru's northern Piura city to launch the Reconstruction with Changes Plan and monitor construction works at Venados Bridge in Lancones district.

He is joined by Transport and Communications Minister Bruno Giuffra and Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (RCC) Executive-Director Pablo de la Flor.

"We are on our way to Piura to see how reconstruction efforts are progressing. Many projects are still in the planning stage, and we are going to explain their progress and the schedule of works at Piura University," he expressed.

According to the statesman, the visit will provide an opportunity to supervise reconstruction works in the region —hit by heavy rains and floods earlier this year— such as Venados Bridge, where works have just begun.

"We want to give it [Venados Bridge project] a prod, and that's why we are going," the Head of State said in a Facebook video.

Prime Minister Fernando Zavala on Wednesday announced the S/23-billion (about US$7.08 billion) Reconstruction with Changes Plan is going to be presented across affected regions starting today.

Also, he disclosed infrastructure works to reconstruct areas ravaged by Coastal El Niño phenomenon disasters will generate 150,000 jobs during its peak execution period.
