Head of State Pedro Pablo Kuczynski received an electronic National Identity Document (DNI) at the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) office in Lima’s Miraflores district.
Mr. Kuczynski was joined by Reniec's chief Jorge Yrivarren and Miraflores Mayor Jorge Muñoz.
Later this morning, at 11 a.m., the President is to be acknowledged as Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces and the National Police (PNP), pursuant to Article 167 of the National Constitution.
The protocol event will feature high-ranking Army, Navy, Air Force and National Police Officers.
Attendees will gather at the Government Palace's Golden Hall.
