Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski takes part in a Thanksgiving service held by Evangelical Christ Churches of Peru as part of Independence Day official activities.

The religious ceremony takes place at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church facilities in the Lince district of Lima.

Mr. Kuczynski is joined by his wife Nancy Lange, State ministers and Vice-Presidents Martin Vizcarra and Mercedes Araoz.

Also attending the event is Congress Chairman Luis Galarreta, as well as other authorities.

Held each year since 2006, the ceremony has become an official event celebrating the Independence of Peru since 2010.

Afterwards, the Peruvian leader will open this year's civic-military parade marking the 196th Anniversary of Independence, joined by thousands of enthusiastic citizens.
