Peru PM distributes meals to Lima region victims

11:18 | Lima, Mar. 26.

Peru's Prime Minister Fernando Zavala on Sunday morning delivered breakfast meals to natural disaster victims from Lima's eastern Carapongo area.

As is known, the Andean country is currently at the mercy of torrential downpours and floods that have left many citizens homeless.

At the site, Zavala was joined by Defense Minister Jorge Nieto.

During the visit, the cabinet head highlighted the country is still in a disaster prevention stage, and "the government's priority is to save lives."

It must be noted meals were prepared in field kitchens owned by the Peruvian Army.

Likewise, both authorities delivered equipment kits to Armed Forces brigade members currently deployed in the area.

The activity also saw the presence of Armed Forces Joint Command Chief Admiral Jose Paredes Lora and Army Commander General Luis Ramos Hume.
