Peru PM confident national team will do its best in Buenos Aires

Peruvian Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz cheered on the national soccer team on Thursday ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Argentina.

"Our hearts go out to you. We are aware of your hard work and your preparedness for the game," she was quoted as saying.

"We know you are doing your best. Thank you Peru," she added.

Agriculture Minister Juan Manuel Hernandez and the Government Palace staff joined the Cabinet chief who stopped her duties to support the national team in this crucial match.

Previously, Araoz met with Hernandez to discuss aspects of the agriculture sector ahead of Cabinet's address at Parliament.

The two senior officials feel confident tonight match will be advantageous to the Peruvian side.

Araoz has used social networks to share her meetings with different State ministers. "Let's keep on working wearing the Peruvian soccer jersey," she posted.
