The budget for the 2018 fiscal year will prioritize education, health and public security, Prime Minister Fernando Zavala assured on Monday.
After inaugurating the
5th GORE-Executive Meeting in Lima on Monday, Zavala affirmed the Executive Power and regional governments would discuss matters concerning the budget at the two-day event.
The minister explained the Kuczynski administration had found the health sector in conditions that were not the desired ones, reason why they will improve it.
"In education, as we have announced and committed ourselves, we must improve resources. That should go hand-in-hand with the improvement in the quality of education for children," he said.
Third priority sector will be security. In this sense, he noted progress has been made on reducing both, victimization and the perception of insecurity.
However, he acknowledged it is necessary to continue working on the matter with more resources.
