Comprised in its newly-inaugurated permanent collection, Peru's Julio C. Tello Museum showcases over 120 pieces representing Paracas culture from its initial periods thru 200 A.D.

Opened by Culture Minister Diana Alvarez-Calderon, the space will allow visitors to appreciate Paracas' treasures, and thus keep people's memory alive by recovering our national identity.

Such compound features a dark room to screen videos containing introductory graphic content on the area's ancient inhabitants, their world-view, as well as useful objects, including textiles and ceramics among other tools.

Likewise, the Temporary Exhibition Room hosts watercolor painting copies by Peruvian artist Pedro Rojas Ponce, whose art combines iconographic designs from the said culture.

As is known, the area's most iconic textile and ceramic remains were found in Paracas Peninsula.

The museum opening is extremely significant to national culture, tourism sectors, as well as the country in general.
