Peru’s oil output hit 60,700 barrels a day in August 2015, which meant an 8.9% increase compared to the previous month, Peru's National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE) informed.
Higher oil production was mainly due to higher volumes in Blocks Z-1 (134.3%), 1-AB (14.9%) and X (3%). On the contrary, production in Blocks 8 and Z-2B decreased by 3.7% and 1.0% respectively.
Pluspetrol Norte recorded the highest oil production in August 2015, as it accounted for 30.6% of the country’s total output.
CNPC Peru shared 18.2% of total production. The company currently operates bloc X after having acquired shares of Petrobras Energia Peru S.A.
Savia Peru comes next with 15.4% of total production, followed by BPZ Exploracion & Produccion (8.6%) and Olympic Peru (6.2%).
Sapet Development Peru production accounted for 5.7% of the country’s total output, Graña y Montero Petrolera for 3.3% — which increased its market share after it was awarded the rights to develop blocks formerly operated by Interoil — and Perenco Peru Limited for 1.2%.
