Non-traditional exports amounted to US$956 million in October 2016, a 1% increase from the same period last year, Peru's Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported on Thursday.
Over the said period, such shipments reached an annual growth rate of 2.1%, boosted by the great performance witnessed in farming and fishery sectors.
Increased sales of blueberries (US$46 million), zinc products (US$11 million), frozen and canned cuttlefish (US$14 million), shells (US$6 million) and food for shrimps (US$6 million) stood out.
Last October, the United States was considered the main target market for Peru's non-traditional products (US$280 million), followed by the Netherlands and Ecuador.
At economic bloc level, greater non-traditional overseas sales were addressed to North America (US$311 million) and Andean countries (US$219 million).
