Ex-President Alberto Fujimori on Thursday night left Centenario Clinic headquarters, after having been hospitalized at that medical center since December 23.

Pardoned Fujimori departed the clinic —located in Lima's Pueblo Libre district— in a wheelchair accompanied by his youngest son, Congressman Kenji Fujimori.

The former Head of State, 79, greeted reporters waiting outside the facilities before boarding an SUV.

During his stay at the medical center, he underwent a series of health examinations.

As is known, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski granted a humanitarian pardon to Fujimori on Christmas Eve.

The decision clears Fujimori —who ruled the country between 1990 and 2000— of convictions for human rights crimes before completion of a 25-year prison sentence announced in 2009.
