Peru's Health Ministry (Minsa) arranged the shipment of medicines, water and medical supplies to Ancash's cities of Huarmey and Casma, both hit by natural disasters.

As is known, the South American country is currently at the mercy of heavy rains, landslides and floods.

Upon arrival in Chimbote city, Health Minister Patricia Garcia met with high-ranking military officials to address aid delivery.

Last Sunday, Garcia inspected Huarmey's affected areas. She was joined by Justice and Human Rights Minister Marisol Perez Tello, as well as city Mayor Miguel Angel Sotelo.

In addition, she met with other regional authorities to articulate efforts aimed at tackling emergencies.

Furthermore, two Minsa groups —composed of brigade and rescue members— traveled to the most affected areas in Ancash.

Supported by Peru's Armed Forces, Garcia also managed the transport of injured people to Lima-based hospitals.

This initiative was also possible thanks to efforts by the Peruvian Navy and Army.
