Peruvian Government's goal for next year is to award Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects valued at US$5.632 billion, Economy and Finance Minister Claudia Cooper announced Thursday.

"Private investment is a key pillar of the government […]. We expect to award PPP projects worth over US$5.6 billion in 2018," said Cooper during the International Seminar titled Capital Markets, Banking & Finance Day 2017 held in Lima.

According to the cabinet member, some of the main sector's axes —to underpin the country's economic growth— include investment execution, macroeconomic stability, competitiveness, and formalization.

"It is essential to award PPP initiatives, develop housing projects, as well as attract more investments in mining and hydrocarbons sectors with the purpose of achieving a proper investment execution," she concluded.
