Peruvian government on Thursday granted its agrément to the appointment of Antoine Grassin as new French Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Peru.

According to the Andean country's Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Embassy of France in Lima requested said approval on July 18.

In 2012, Mr. Grassin served as General Director of Campus France, the French national agency for the promotion of higher education, international student services and international mobility.

Likewise, he was appointed French Ambassador to Bolivia (2008-2011). In addition, the diplomat performed diplomatic functions in Germany, Spain and Argentina.

Within this framework, the Inca nation's Prime Minister Fernando Zavala on Wednesday affirmed Peru-France relations are strong and must keep growing with President Emmanuel Macron's official visit to the Andean nation slated for September.
