Peruvian government's priority is to assist people affected by natural disasters, Prime Minister Fernando Zavala affirmed.
As is known, the Andean country is currently at the mercy of torrential downpours and floods that have left many citizens homeless.
"Our priority is to take care of people. Also, there are a series of damages on roads, bridges, schools and health institutions," he told Canal N local channel last Sunday.
Likewise, the cabinet head assured there had been no previous reports warning about the magnitude of "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon.
In addition, Zavala underlined the Executive Power firstly focused on saving lives. The second step is to reestablish food systems in affected areas, as well as to set up temporary homes and provide medical care.
"This will be the work over the following 30 days," he added.
The third stage is the reconstruction process, including a plan in accordance with the country's needs, the high-ranking official affirmed.
Said process will be also supported by the World Bank Group (WBG), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF).
