The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains alert to the situation in Israel upon confirmation of the air attack by Iran, in order to provide assistance to Peruvians who require it.

In a communiqué, the government agency recommended that Peruvians avoid traveling to said region and urged fellow citizens who are in the zone to take precautions so as to safeguard their physical integrity.

"The Embassy of Peru in Israel remains alert to the unfolding of the situation in order to provide any assistance that Peruvian residents and tourists may require," reads the statement issued on Saturday evening.

In that sense, they are asked to "follow the recommendations of local authorities."

"Our missions in neighboring countries have been instructed to remain alert and ready to cooperate in helping Peruvian citizens who may be affected," the statement said.

Peruvians residing in the area under attack can contact the Embassy in Israel by calling +(972) 52 7050868 or sending an e-mail to consulperu-telaviv@rree.gob.pe.

Iran launched an attack with drones and missiles against Israel, in response to the bombing of the Iranian Embassy in Syria, which occurred days ago.
