In September, the Peruvian economy appeared to have grown much more strongly than in precious three months, and some signs are indicating the economic slowdown has begun to reverse, reported the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR).

“We believe the cyclical situation is changing, because signs show September was better than June, July and August,” BCR’s President Julio Velarde pointed out.

He went on to note that the latest surveys show signs of increased expectations for the country.

“Consumption in Peru has remained stable, although private investment growth will be negative,” he added.

Velarde highlighted that this situation is different in different countries of the region.

For instance, there are nations with room for more expansionary fiscal policy, as is the case of Peru and Chile.
