The Peruvian Government strongly condemned the terror attack carried out on Wednesday close to the British Houses of Parliament in London (UK).

In a release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its heart-felt condolences to victims' families, as well as to the Government and people of the United Kingdom.

"Peru restates its total rejection to all violent manifestations breaching the values and principles underpinning peaceful coexistence," the statement reads.

"It also reiterates its call on the international community to redouble efforts to tackle all forms of terrorism," it continues.

The attack left 40 injured and 4 dead people: 3 innocent victims and the assailant, identified as Khalid Massod.

Massod drove into several people walking in the vicinity of the British Parliament. He then stabbed a police officer who tried to stop him.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack. The assailant was eventually taken down by the police.
