Minister of Development and Social Inclusion Paola Bustamante visited Puquio district belonging to the Lucanas Province (Ayacucho region), where she oversaw the service provided to children aged 6 to 36 months, who reside in poor and extreme poor areas.
Bustamante arrived in Puquio along with program Executive Director Jorge Fernandez. Both officials toured around the Comprehensive Assistance Child Center (CIAI) Chaupi-Puquio, where minors are assisted with the purpose of enhancing their development, so cognitive, social, physical and emotional gaps will be narrowed.
The Head of Midis underlined efforts are being undertaken by Cuna Mas to guarantee minors' well-being and reminded that stage of their lives is "crucial" since the foundations for boosting their skills and potentials are being set and will be reflected once they become adults.
She went on to add Cuna also works with communities, local governments, private enterprises and families to assure adequate conditions for proper child development.
