Peru: Business sector creates Conventions Bureau in Paracas

Peru's private sector created the Paracas Convention and Visitors Bureau, confirmed said organization's Chairman Eduardo Jauregui.

Paracas is located 272 km south of Lima. The city is famous for hosting a national reserve, which is home to beaches, bird and fish species. The area also shelters remains from ancient Paracas culture.

This initiative firstly aims to articulate efforts with the State to build a convention center, given the region's experience in organizing great events.

"The convention center, with a minimum capacity to host at least 2000 people and a fairground, will be used for various events such as congresses and national fairs, including the Annual Conference of Executives (CADE) and [other] international events," Jauregui affirmed.

According to the officer, the project will bring progress to the area; for instance, CADE 2016 generated income worth US$4 million for the city.

Likewise, Jauregui underlined Paracas Beach area offers businesspeople and visitors sunny weather, as well as an excellent gastronomy.

"There isn't any other place safer than Paracas [...]," he added.
