Peru won their second match of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Junior World Championship with a straight set victory over Tunisia on Saturday.

Peru (2-0, 6 points) had little trouble defeating Tunisia 25-7, 25-11, 25-10 with loud fan support from 4,200 in attendance in a Pool A matchup in Trujillo, improving to 2-0 in the tournament and ensuring a spot into the top eight.

Brenda Uribe paced Peru with 12 points, including four of her team’s 11 aces. The home team had 10 of their 12 players reach the scoring column, including nine points from Clarivett Yllescas.

Peru also held a 7-2 margin in aces and a commanding 32-9 advantage in spikes. Tunisia (0-2, 0 points) was led by Ghalia Ouderni’s five points, the International Volleyball Federation reported.

Also in Pool A, Slovakia (2-0, 6 points) topped Egypt (0-2, 0 points) 25-20, 25-10, 25-10 setting up seed position battles on Sunday in the top and bottom half second-round brackets.

In Pool B in Lima, Italy (1-1, 3 points) defeated Cuba (0-2, 0 points) 25-16, 25-12, 26-24, while Brazil (2-0, 6 points) posted a 23-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-18 victory over Serbia.

In Pool C in Trujillo, the United States (2-0, 6 points) earned a 25-19, 16-25, 29-27, 25-14 victory over Poland (0-2, 1 point), while Belgium (1-1, 3 points) defeated Korea (1-1, 2 points) 25-19, 25-16, 18-25, 25-20.

In Pool D in Lima, Dominican Republic (2-0, 6 points) rallied past Russia (0-2, 0 points) 17-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20 and China (2-0, 6 points) won an all-Asian Volleyball Confederation battle 25-18, 17-25, 25-23, 25-19 over Japan (0-2, 0 points).
